Iris meets her great-grandparents Eckelmen

Matt's grandparents, David and Phyllis Eckelman came to see us recently in New Haven! What a treat - Iris got to know two more of her great-granparents!


And by "get to know", I clearly mean "sleep through." :)

Getting Bigger and Stronger

A few photos from the last week. Iris continues to be a generally happy healthy baby. She can really hold her head up now and gets more sociable by the day.

Iris Makes a Friend

Iris quickly bonds with her new friend. By bonds with, I mean tries to put in her mouth . . . (sadly not captured on film)

3 months old!

Iris turned three months old yesterday. In honor, we took her to get weighed. The result: 13 lbs, 5 ounces. Right on track! It was also Gwyneth's first day back at work. So far, so good.

Iris is doing great on the sleep front too - often sleeping 8 hours in a row, from 10pm to 6am. We are nervous to broadcast this too much, for fear of jinxing it . . .

More smiles from Iris. Latest development is that she likes being sung to. Current favorite tune: The Farmer in the Dell (which I now realize has really very odd lyrics)

13th Week Photos; Iris Meets her Great-grandmother!

Iris met GG, her great-grandmother today! The three of us made a trip down to New Jersey. Iris was well-behaved, and fell asleep on GG's bed.

Tummy time. Iris can now hold her head up on her arms like this - she swivels her head and looks to the right and left. Then she gets tired, puts her head down and starts crying. But she's getting stronger!

Iris smiles all the time these days - it is really fun. her favorite place is on the changing table, as in this video. She just loves being changed!

It seems like she makes a new sound every day. Mostly just gurgles - but they're becoming more expressive. Of course, she stops "talking" as soon as I turn the camera on. Someday soon I'll get a video to post though!
