Denton Family Baby Fest 2009

Well, this weekend witnessed quite a gathering: all six members of the Denton Fmaily G4 gathered in NJ for the first time! All are great-grandchildren of GG (Gwyneth's maternal grandmother). The G4 consists of: Sophie (3 1/2), Oliver (1 1/2), Aida (10 months), Iris (7 1/2 months), Petra (3 months), and Quintus (2 months). Aunt Alison and cousin Petra came to visit us in New Haven prior to the great gathering. As you might imagine, an obscene number of photos and video were taken - here is a little taste of the shenanigans and vice-cousinry.

Pre-Crawling

Evidence of Iris up on her hands and knees. She will sometimes launch herself forward, face-planting on the bed. She isn't good at doing this on the floor yet, so no major bonks, but we're sure they are coming . . .

Seven Months Old and Going

I've finally got a few videos up from recent days. Iris turned 7 months last week. She is doing well - becoming more and more adept with her hands, starting to get up on her knees (which we hear means crawling will be next), and being generally sociable (except when teething . . . ).

We just moved into a new house, so we have a little more space, although we haven't managed to unpack everything yet.

More adventures in solids. Here Matt feeds Iris some rice cereal while Aunt Laura looks on. Iris has now eaten rice cereal, banana, spinach, and avocado (not particularly successful).

Iris also went swimming for the first time recently! We took her to a local outdoor pool. She seemed to like it - she kicked and splashed and didn't freak out.

DC Trip and More!

Well, I haven't uploaded any photos in the last two week (what with moving and all), but here are some from our lovely weekend in DC two weeks ago. We went down for friends Alayne and Ward's wedding and got to do some sightseeing as well. We took a tour of the neighborhood Gwyneth grew up in, visiting her old house and haunts. We also went to the Zoo, Georgetown and the American Indian Museum. Highlights below.
