July 4th and More Video!

We had a great time with the Dentons in Newport. Iris saw her vice-cousin Quintus again, we went to the beach, had icecream, and lots of other fun stuff. It is now very very hot here in New Haven.

New with Iris:
- she has started to feed herself with a spoon - she can manage foods like apple sauce and yoghurt. Of course, some ends up on her lap, but she's improving daily
- she is very vocal. a lot of what she says seems to be in another language, but she says it with conviction. english languag words include the ever-popular Daddy, dog, all done, baby, duck
- she loves playing with balls, and can now kick them in addition to throwing them
- most popular toy in Newport was probably a set of plastic picnic cups - stacking and unstacking them was continually entertaining
- she loves other babies - she wants to hug them and pet them
- in fact, she will hug just about anything. she hugs the babies, cats, and dogs in her picture books.
