Minnesota!

Well, we made it back from Minnesota in one piece. I've just got the photos up on flickr here.

What a great time! We were visiting the Jensen side of the family. Matt's aunt, cousin and grandfather on his Mom's side all live in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area and have a lake house on Lake Minnewaska a few hours drive from there. We got to stay right on the lake for a week - it was lovely. Activities included lots of time in the water, jet-skis, kayak, grilling, puzzles and LOTS of ice-cream (mostly Dairy Queen). The trip was a little more exciting than anticipated due to a severe storm (we had to stay in the basement for a while when there was a tornado warning) that took out hundreds of trees, docks, etc. and flooded some roads. Luckily, our house was unscathed. We were out of power for 36 hours though (and also out of water), which was fun. Matt managed to cook eggs on the grill, our only way to cook food. The girls did great with the two full days of travel - Iris continues to talk about going on the choo choo train and the airplane.

Now we're back in New Haven for the next two weeks, then we'll be up in Maine with the Joneses the last week in August.
