One Year Old!

Well, Iris turned one year old last week! I wanted to take a one-year portrait of her on her birthday, but a black eye from a mild fall the day before ruined those plans . . . and just as that cleared up, she got a bruised lip from a trip on the rug. So, anyway, we've finally got some photos up below, now that she doesn't look like she got into a fight at daycare.

So, what's new with Iris?
- She now gives real hugs and kisses. It's great! When we pick her up from day-care, she'll crawl over, and when we pick her up, she hugs us!
- She eats like a fiend. We've introduced whole milk, peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter (this stuff is amazing), cheese, whole milk yoghurt, pasta.
- She shows little interest in vegetables. Any advice on how to get her to eat some appreciated!
- She loves most fruit, and would eat a whole banana in one sitting if we let her. We discovered the hard way that we shouldn't let her. She is now rationed to half a banana a day.
- It is possible that she is refering to bananas when she says "na-na" - we're not entirely sure.
- Still crusing everywhere. We're totally okay with her waiting to walk a while longer.
- Has been deemed the class clown at day-care, and "an assertive young lady". These seem like good things . . .
- Absolutley loves her Baby Emma (a Christmas present from family friends). She will hug and kiss Baby Emma, and likes for Mama and Daddy to do the same.
- Still loves to groove.
