Warm April Days

We've had some beautiful (unseasonal) weather here. Got up to the mid-80s yesterday! Lots of fun over the long weekend - visit to the zoo, visit to Boston Public Gardens with New Haven friends (Iris was very excited to see the swan boats and the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture), bike-ride to Jamaica Pond, first time at the Boston Nature Center with many of Iris's pre-school friends, slip-and-slide at a friend's house, and lots of time in our yard (we finally got the table set up so we can have dinner outside). It was great to catch up with a lot of friends and enjoy the time outdoors.

Over the last four days, the leaves have burst out and many flowers are blooming - our beautiful irises just came out yesterday and the lilac will be next. We're lucky to have inherited a wonderful garden with the house. We're such novices, though, we often aren't sure what's a weed and what's not . . .

At any rate, new photos of our adventures here.

In just two weeks, Hazel has progressed significantly: she now pulls up to standing easily, even holding on with only one hand. She crawls up entire flights of stairs (yikes!). She is entering the 'leave me alone' phase, in which she doesn't like to have her clothes put on or taken off, and doesn't like diapering. Much squirming and whining during these activities.

Sunny, happy Hazel
